Pompano (FL) DBC hosted the fourth annual charity drive for our local chapter of Pets In Distress. The Posnack JC Center DBC, of Davie FL, added the money from their August charity game.
With the help of our caring bridge players, we presented $800, along with food and pet toys, to the Pets In Distress organization.
At the break, there was a dog show with nine wonderful dogs participating! Three prizes were awarded. Our attendance was double the norm, and the atmosphere was social and cooperative. There were lots of smiles, as is usual when there are pets present. I especially enjoyed people playing with a dog in their arms.
